She loves me!

She rolls all over the crib before bed and sometimes she falls asleep in random positions like this.

She's sleeping with a gloworm now and she loves it. It calms her in the middle of the night too.

She's been giving us so much love lately, so sweet! I just realized how much we look alike.

She is now rolling like nobody's business. She rolls all over the house and Mike said today that she even was scooting. I'm giving the swing to Melissa, a friend of mine from home who is having a little girl in October, and in it's place is going the pack n play in our living room. Why, you ask? Because she's not safe to be laid down under her floor gym or just on a blanket in the living room! She rolls everywhere and gets into things! It's the beginning of the end! I need a place to contain her when I have to do things like use the bathroom or grab something from the kitchen. She's such a handful already.

This weekend we went to the beach for a day so that Mike could see Bailey's first time at the beach. We'll get pics and video of that uploaded soon. But while we were in the hotel room Monday morning, right before I was about to leave, I was trying to put her down for a nap. Usually she goes into her crib and soothes herself to sleep. Since we were at a hotel, though, there was no crib so I was rocking her to sleep. So I laid her down as she was falling asleep and she grabbed my neck and held me so tight! Ohhh it melted my heart. She's just the sweetest baby. I was like "oh I'll just stay here with you forever! Whatever you want!" That was the first time she'd ever done anything like that and then she proceeded to do it twice more. So sweet!

Rolling, rolling, rolling

This weekend I got to go out by myself shopping for a couple hours while Mike stayed with Bailey. I came home to see the above cute little scene.

This morning that stinker of a baby of mine rolled from her back to her tummy for the first time. A little back story : at two and and a half months she rolled from her tummy to her back. She had been almost there for days and days, sooooooo close to rolling. I put her on her tummy right after I got done pumping and went to the kitchen. While in the kitchen for no longer than 30 seconds, that little booger had rolled over for the first time ever... and no one was there to witness it. Now, present day : two days shy of five months old. I was getting ready for work, had her on her blanket in my bedroom floor, and walked to the kitchen to wash a couple bottles. As I walk out of the room, I see that she's almost rolling over to her tummy but she's been doing this for days so whatever. I (ironically) think, "how funny would it be if she rolled over from back to tummy for the first time and no one saw it. That couldn't possibly happen twice." So I go and come back and there that baby girl is, laying on her big ol' belly. Again, no one there to witness it. Mommy is a sucker. The best (or worst) part is that Mike watched her for most of the day today and he said was just rolling all over our living room floor all day. I finally saw it late this afternoon but goodness, I'm with her the most and it took forever to see this feat she's been working on for weeks! I'm glad daddy got to see yet another first though.

Silly sleepy girl

Just wanted to share this pic of Bailey sleeping. This is how she sleeps 90% of the time. It's so funny. She's been sleeping that way since birth. I wouldn't be surprised if that's how she was in the womb because she was in some funny positions. She's not lady like at all either, with her legs all spread open. This was her at nap time today, when she finally slept. By the way, we got out camcorder today so we should be able to upload more videos soon!

More solids!

Cute picture of the baby girl in the bath.

Well we've just been introducing more and more things into Bailey's diet. So far she has sweet potatoes, avacados, rice cereal, oatmeal, and prunes. She's doing very well and we haven't found anything that our little chunky monkey doesn't enjoy. She is even holding the spoon and strong arms it until she realizes there's nothing left on it. Everything she's eaten so far that can be homemade is, except the prunes because it was kind of urgent that she get those (since the cereals are kind of stopping her up, sorry for the TMI). But I plan on making the rest of the prunes she gets homemade. It's time consuming but I love doing it for her! She's sleeping better now that we're giving her solids and we have her on a schedule (mostly) for eating and sleeping. Last night she went from 7 pm until 4:30 am without nursing. I nursed for about half the time I usually do because I'm trying to get her out of the habit of those nightly feedings. It's usually only once a night but I'm pretty sure she is only waking up out of habit rather than real hunger. But she took to it just fine and even slept about a half an hour later than usual. Too bad mommy had to get to for work anyway!

With Mike leaving soon, we're planning on possibly taking a day trip to the beach so he can see her at the beach for the first time. We're trying to get as many firsts in with him here as possible. Maybe he'll even get to see her first tooth because she is teething up a storm! She'll be five months old next week and I just can't even believe it. She's such a big girl.

Good news about me though, I've basically lost all of my pregnancy weight. Haha, only took almost five months. Things still aren't the same but I'm working on it. With Mike leaving, grad school starting (I'll be starting on my Masters in Psyc at the end of this month, for all that didn't know), and work picking up more, I don't have much time to work out but I'm eating much better and I think it shows. Go me!
